Pityriasis Alba and its Homoeopathic Medicine




Pityriasis Alba is a dermatological complaint. It is commonly seen in children and young adult, as dry fine-scaled pale patches on face. It is self limiting and usually only requires use of moisturizer cream.

Lesions are round or oval raised or flat, of 0.5-2cm in size although may be larger if they occur on the body (upto 4cm) and usually no from 4 or 5 to over 20. They patches are dry with very fine scales. They are commonly occurs on face 


Cause

Excessive use of corticosteroids cream used used to treat episodes of eczema.

The hypopigmentation  is due to reduced activity of melanocytes.


Diagnosis

Diagnosis is mainly done by clinical examination. Shinning of wood's light over the skin may reveal further lesion not obviously visible otherwise.

Pityriasis versicolor

Leprosy
