Galactorrhoea and its Homoeopathic Medicine




Galactorrhoea is the secretion of a milky fluid which is inappropriate (unrelated to child birth).

The secretion contains fat globules when examined under microscope and is confirmatory for milk. A high prolactin level is encouraged in one third of case with idiopathic amenorrhoea.

Prolactin (PRL) is the most important hormone involved in the pathophysiology of amenorrhoea and Galactorrhoea. Prolactin is under tonic inhibitory factor.

Prolactin inhibits GnRH pulse secretion. Gonadotropin levels are suppressed. Hyperprolactinaemia inhibits ovarian steroidogenesis. Hyperprolactinaemia ultimately results in hypogonadotrophic
