Amoebic Liver Abscess and its Homoeopathic Medicine




Amoebic liver abscess are less common than pyogenic liver abscess and have many similar features.


Cause 

By spread of Entamoeba Histological from intestine lesion.


The trophozoite from of amoebae in the colon invade the colonic mucosa forming flask shaped ulcer.

Amoebae multiply and block small intrahepatic portal radicles resulting in infarction necrosis of adjacent liver parenchyma.

The patient, generally from tropical and subtropical countries.


Clinical Feature

Intermittent low grade fever

Pain

Tenderness in the liver area are the common presenting feature.


Diagnosis

A positive haemagglutination test is quite sensitive and useful for diagnosis of Amoebic liver Abscess.


Homoeopathic Medicine for  Amoebic Liver Abscess

  1. Lycopodium
  2. Nux vomica
  3. Hepar Sulp
  4. Phosphorus
  5. Chelidonium


Lycopodium

It is a great remedy for liver complaints.

Pain aggravated by eating.

Lycopodium is adapted more especially to ailments gradually developing, functional power weakening, with failures of digestive powers, where the function of liver is seriously disturbed.

Skin shows yellowish spots, earthly complexion.

Symptoms characteristically runs from right to left, acts especially right side of the body.

Worse from 4 to 8pm.


Nux vomica

Nux vomica is highly effective remedy for liver abscess.

Liver engorged with stitches and soreness.

Colic with upward pressure, causing short breath desire for stool.

Weakness of abdominal ring region.

Desire for stimulants.

Dyspepsia from drinking strong coffee.

Wants to vomit but cannot.

Sour bitter eructation.

Sour taste and nausea in morning after eating.

Weight and pain in stomach.

Nausea and vomiting much retching.

Region of stomach very sensitive to pressure.


Phosphorus

It is highly effective remedy for liver abscess.

Liver congested.

Fatty degeneration.

Feels cold in abdomen region.

Sharp cutting pain.

A very weak, empty abdomen, gone felt in  whole abdomen cavity.

Bad effects of eating too much salt.


The selection of homoeopathic remedies based on symptom similarities and doses according to the Susceptibility of patient.
